Fred had a pretty solid Opening Weekend as he closed out on Sunday with his fourth straight winner in the 1st race, followed by a daily double, exacta in the 3rd ($16), exacta in the fifth ($101) and the exacta in feature, the Quick Call ($24). NYRA had a mixed weekend – decent quality races for Saturday and Sunday but pretty weak cards for the opening two days.
Inexplicably, they announced a dead heat for second place in the 3rd and then changed it 5 minutes later to a different result. Fred has seen a lot of things at race tracks over the years but never that. NYRA, like many organizations, made no effort to really explain the incompetence of the initial announcement. So Opening Weekend is in the history books! Let’s try to build from here!
